Peter Zentjens short biography
A few quick facts:
- Born in Bree, Belgium, in 1974
- Studied photography for 3 years in Genk, Belgium
Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to express my feelings, emotions and fantasies in images. So I drew a lot. Nevertheless, I wasn't interested in actually going to an academy to study drawing, or any other art form for that matter. In those days, I was really into science. That is why, when I had to choose what I was going to study, chose for architecture. I saw architecture as a combination of science and creativity. But very fast I discovered that science had lost its appeal to me, and that I was only interested in creating images, one way or the other. So, after careful consideration I decided to study photography. This time my study felt right, and I really liked what I was doing. After several years however, I got sidetracked to multimedia. I quit photography and started to work in a multimedia company.
Now, a couple of years later, I'm back in the art thing again. Under the influence of my girlfriend, I picked my art up again where I let off. She is a real source of inspiration for me, both in art and in real life. That is why today I'm both photographing and drawing again.
Maybe this is not exactly what you expected to read right here. Maybe you expected a description of my work and my inspiration, with pompous words. But I always had one guideline in my work: "Let the images speak for themselves!"
